3-day Cultural Programme

Art-lovers can indulge themselves during this three-day cultural programme which takes you to see the local museums’ masterpieces! You will have a chance to see all the highlights of the other Holland.

Day 1

Visit to Kröller-Müller Museum

The Kröller-Müller Museum has the second-largest collection of Van Gogh’s work in the world: almost 90 paintings and over 180 drawings. The Van Gogh Gallery exhibits an alternating arrangement of some 40 works by Vincent van Gogh. The collection furthermore contains masterpieces by modern masters such as Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondrian. The Kröller-Müller also has an extensive sculpture garden.

Optional: it is easy to combine the visit to the museum with a visit to the hunting lodge, Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, or to Museonder, the visitors’ centre with an underground museum and/or with a picnic, hike or cycle tour.

Day 2

Visit to the Lalique Museum and the manor house, Kasteel het Nijenhuis

Morning
The Lalique Museum is devoted to the master of jewellery design and glass art, René Lalique (1860-1945). His work is full of symbolism and ‘hidden’ details.

Afternoon
Lunch
Doesburg has plenty of places to enjoy a delicious lunch. 

Kasteel het Nijenhuis
Kasteel het Nijenhuis is one of the best preserved manor houses in the province of Overijssel. It lies between the villages of Heino and Wijhe and is surrounded by a magnificent landscape. The history of Kasteel het Nijenhuis dates back to the late Middle Ages.

Day 3

Visit to the Fundatie museum

Museum de Fundatie owns and manages a vast collection of visual art. Museum de Fundatie can be found on Blijmarkt, right in the centre of Zwolle. This neoclassical building was built between 1838 and 1841, from a design by Eduard Louis de Coninck.
