Art-lovers can indulge themselves during this three-day cultural programme which takes you to see the local museums’ masterpieces! You will have a chance to see all the highlights of the other Holland.
The Kröller-Müller Museum has the second-largest collection of Van Gogh’s work in the world: almost 90 paintings and over 180 drawings. The Van Gogh Gallery exhibits an alternating arrangement of some 40 works by Vincent van Gogh. The collection furthermore contains masterpieces by modern masters such as Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondrian. The Kröller-Müller also has an extensive sculpture garden.
Optional: it is easy to combine the visit to the museum with a visit to the hunting lodge, Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, or to Museonder, the visitors’ centre with an underground museum and/or with a picnic, hike or cycle tour.
The Lalique Museum is devoted to the master of jewellery design and glass art, René Lalique (1860-1945). His work is full of symbolism and ‘hidden’ details.
Doesburg has plenty of places to enjoy a delicious lunch.
