Daytrip Zutphen
Zutphen, situated at the intersection of the River Berkel and the River IJssel, is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. Zutphen is often described as Amsterdam in miniature. The city has a rich history, many traces of which are still visible in its centre. Churches, parts of old fortifications, majestic warehouses and merchants’ houses can be admired to this day. This magnificent architecture forms the backdrop for an attractive mix of shops, hotels and restaurants, events and culture. A visit to its unique boutiques and specialist stores is highly recommended, as is taking a break for lunch at one of the city’s many restaurants and cafés. Visitors are also warmly welcomed at the galleries and workshops in the city.

City walking tour with a focus on mediaeval facades
Learn about the other side of Zutphen and discover its hidden gems. The entire history of the city will be discussed in one and a half hours during this guided walk. There is also time to listen to stories about the buildings and hear fascinating facts and details.
Boat trip along the canals (approx. one hour)
Sail along the River Berkel and through Zutphen’s canals to view the most attractive spots from the water. The silent electric boat will take you past historic monuments and unexpected places in just over an hour, while the captain tells you about the history of the Hanseatic Town of Zutphen in his own unique way. The boat trip starts and ends at the jetty on Rijkenhage, right in the centre of Zutphen.

The Italian restaurant De Wijnhuistoren is situated in one of the most beautiful spots in the Hanseatic town of Zutphen: a magnificent location on the bustling market square in the city’s historic centre. It is an ideal place to stop off for coffee or to enjoy a tasty lunch or a delicious dinner.

Visit to the Municipal Museum of Zutphen
The Stedelijk Museum Zutphen is a cultural history museum of Zutphen and the southern Achterhoek region where the collection is displayed in an original manner. The wide variety of objects in the collection brings history alive: from archaeological finds, craftwork, textiles, toys, paintings and prints to the unique collection of Zutphen silver containing delicate potpourri bowls made exclusively in this region. Take a trip through the rich and turbulent history of Zutphen!
Shopping in the Hanseatic Town
The distinctive city centre is populated with unique shops, whose carefully dressed windows ensure a pleasurable day’s shopping.
