Additionally, it has two comfortable rooms for less-abled guests and a separate disabled toilet. The spa centre comprises a sauna, Turkish steam room, foot baths and heated water beds (swimwear compulsory). Treatments are available at the beauty centre for an extra charge. There is a separate gym area. (A new spa garden is due to open in late 2019 featuring a covered indoor/outdoor pool and various sauna and relaxation facilities in the garden).

Dining
You can dine in the welcoming restaurants, the brasserie and on the patio for breakfast, lunch and dinner (live cooking buffet and á la carte menu). The chefs work with ingredients from the hotel’s own garden as well as products sourced locally. The restaurant menu is available in Dutch, English or German. Tucked away behind the hotel is the intimate restaurant called Huisje James which serves high-end cuisine.
Outdoor facilities
Thanks to the network of intersections, you can start from the hotel and follow a variety of scenic walks and cycle routes throughout the Veluwe region. The hotel has an outdoor information point for details of routes as well as bike hire (including e-bikes and MTBs) and there is also a secure bike shed. Furthermore, it is possible to book a horse-and-carriage ride through the countryside. (In fact, you can even bring your own horse, because the hotel has modern stables and paddocks. You can ride the Veluwe Path on horseback.)
Local tourist highlights
De Cantharel is very centrally located, with Paleis ‘t Loo, Apenheul, Julianatoren and the city centre of Apeldoorn on the one side, and the De Hoge Veluwe National Park and the Kröller-Müller Museum on the other.
Location & accessibility
Hotel Apeldoorn - de Cantharel is just a stone’s throw from the A1 (junction 19) and A50 motorways. From Apeldoorn railway station there is a direct bus connection (number 108S to Ede) which stops right outside the hotel. The closest airports are Airport Weeze (66 km) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (80 km).
De Cantharel has free on-site parking for over 350 cars, including a number with charging facilities – both for regular electric vehicles and superchargers for Teslas. Parking for coaches is available to the rear of the car park.
